Artist Bio

Jakub Sobka (Guandanarian) is a computer scientist from Poland. His art style developed around the time of his university graduation in 2021, and can be described as a mix of handmade frame-by-frame animated pixel art and colorful patterns generated with the Pico-8 fantasy console, later post-processed. He builds a world of "A-systems" - a mysterious organization that creates circuits full of elements and their flagship creation, a little maid girl named Bit. In all of his works, Jakub tries to incorporate hidden messages and meanings, sometimes to a single pixel, also breaking the 4th wall to a watchful observer. His art motto is "every pixel has a story".

Guandanarian's work has been exhibited in Neo Shibuya TV’s 30 Second Museum via New Media Art, NFT Liverpool, NFT.NYC and NFT Paris.

How would you describe this artwork to someone who is blind?

The artwork, made in a pixel art fashion, features a fictional representation of a computer boot-up module. In the middle, a futuristic-looking black-and-white screen with a rainbow frame switches between 4 different screens, each with its own booting animation. Outside and around the screen, there is a plethora of different futuristic-looking elements: rainbow devices and patterns visible through glass, 3D rotating shapes, RGB waves, hexagonal fingerprint scanners, touch panels and computer chips with different shapes and colors. Each element is surrounded by white wire-like looking lines. In the top left and bottom right corner, two 3D shapes slide in and out of the screen. The "A-systems" plate with a miniature depiction of the whole piece is visible on the right side of the artwork.
