Bio

Gustavo Fernando Torres [aka Kidmograph] is an art director, motion designer and illustrator from Buenos Aires, Argentina. His eclectic style gathers glimpses of a nostalgic feeling adapted to new technologies. Experimentation and search are constant in his pieces. He has worked online remotely since 2004 creating; music videos, live visuals, and commissioned art pieces. His clients include; The Strokes, Apple, Anderson Paak, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, and Honda.

What do you want our readers to know about this work?

This artwork is part of a series of failed experiments. Done between the pandemic and the rise of AI, this sci-fi piece merges both human evolution and technological research, a constant trial/error that could potentially unlock unknown areas or provoke a new disaster in the race for survival.

How would you describe this artwork to someone who is blind?

The piece begins with an off-voice, old footage record before a big disaster narrated by a tv news reporter. I want you to imagine the most advanced yet unpredictable moment where the human race starts building the "perfect" AI sentinel, trying to match his new brain (trained with human experience) until it matches with its generic, cold, inert body. We can't see what's going on next, but we can imagine.
